This lovely painting, titled When the Red Bird Flys, is inspired by the song of the same name which was written by Courtney Reames Haydell. While the stunning bright red color of the male cardinal is a symbol of good luck and abundance, the gentle softness of the female is equally inspiring. This popular saying....."When cardinals appear, angels are near" is reflective of the feeling I get each time I see a cardinal land on our feeder. And it's not just cardinals....any red bird has the same gift for me. It's a blessing to help me retrieve and remember passed loved ones. I wish you many of the same blessings.
